The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties in Ekiti State has hailed the National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party’s decision to nullify the congress which produced Mr. Segun. Oni as the vice chairman of the party in the South-West and other members of the executive.
Chairman of the CNPP in Ekiti State, Mr. Tunji Ogunlola, said this in a statement in Ado Ekiti on Sunday by the Secretary of CNPP, Victor Akinola.
The statement read, “The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties wishes to commend the bold step taken by the National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party led by Alhaji Bamanga Tukur for the dissolution of the South West PDP executives premised on the illegalities, which characterised the conduct of their congress in 2012.
“The step taken is justified following the series of suits that were filed on the matter. The CNPP is also urging the National Working Committee of the PDP to look into cases like this in some states in the South West.”
Ogunlola also hailed the leadership of the PDP for the constitution of a 17- man caretaker committee which is headed by Chief Isola Filani to run the affairs of the party in the South-West.
The CNPP, which described Filani as a respected and reliable leader, advised him to restore peace in the PDP in the South-West by working out how to amicably resolve all the crises rocking the PDP in the region.
