After paying for the Power Holding Company of Nigeria meter, it ought to become the property of the consumer but this is not the case. The PHCN still claims the ownership of it. Even when there is no power supply for months, you must pay a monthly fixed charge of N500. If you therefore use the meter for four years, that means you pay N24,000. And the harvest continues on the poor Nigerians forever. This is painful. With the increase in tariff, service has remained as poor as ever. Government both at the federal and state levels should provide permanent cure to this injury the PHCN is inflicting on Nigerians now.
