Ex-Sunshine Stars coach Gbenga Ogunbote is to be named as new coach of troubled Nigeria premier league club Sharks.
Ogunbote, according to media officer of the club Abaje Peter, “Will be unveiled as Sharks new coach before kick-off of our local derby against Dolphins tomorrow (Sunday).”
The man, who led Sunshine Stars to CAF Champions League semi-final, takes over Sharks following the resignation of Austin Eguavoen last week.
Ogunbote also guided Sunshine to the semi-finals of the 2011 CAF Confederation Cup.
Former Nigeria coach Eguavoen, who also quit Enyimba last season, has reportedly thrown in the towel after Sharks loss to Gombe after weeks of a contract signing saga.
Ogunbote will be saddled with the task of securing a continental ticket for Sharks this season.
The Port Harcourt outfit have got off to a bad start this season as they are rock bottom of the Nigeria league after losing three matches thus far.
