Lessons from Jigawa State

While most ordinary Nigerians were busy watching and probing Mr. President’s mid-term report, the  Jigawa State Government and people chose to do the best thing for self-preservation. The state took the time to tell its story. A story that the state was truly secure and safe for investors; that it was more concerned with real time development; create job opportunities and build a state where ALL are welcome to do business. Other than the Lagos State governor, I think all other state governors must be seem to be concerned with the level of development in their states knowing we are operating a federal system if poverty, hunger and self-destruct etc must become a thing of the past. Governors! Let’s see your footprints on the sand of time and not the size of your personal wealth after four or eight years in office and indeed not who chairs the Nigerian Governors’ Forum. Must we copy every practice in the US political system?
