Some time ago, when President Goodluck Jonathan was going after the then Governor of Balyesa State, Timi Sylvia, I wrote on this column, begging the President to allow the governor do the job he was voted for as Nigerians did not elect him as Governor General of Balyesa but President of Nigeria. That plea is now very apt in the ongoing battle for the heart of Rivers State. What is the constitutional relevance of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum in government of the country for its leadership to generate so much acrimony? With so much insecurity in all the states of the federation, the governors are behaving like the man whose house is on fire who is busy pursuing rat.

I always look forward to reading Abimbola Adelakun’s articles every Thursday. Her article on Thursday, May 30 nearly killed me as I almost fell off my chair while reading her analysis of the President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Chibuike Amaechi feud. Though hilarious but it just depicts how sad the state of our country is. I am past caring and I never allow any of these politicians hoodwink me with their sweet words.
