Gospel juju act, Mega 99, was in action in Aswani, Isolo area of Lagos, last weekend when he performed at the wedding of a daughter of gospel singer, by Opelope Anointing (Dunni Olarewaju). His full band, which is one of his strengths, was on hand to give guests what he considered the best.
At the event where other gospel singers, including Bola Are, also performed, Mega 99 sang some of his old songs, but also proved he is spontaneous by creating some others as the occasion demanded.
In a chat with our correspondent, the artiste noted that he had started working on the video of his latest album while also producing another pure gospel album.
“We thank God that our fans are growing daily. The music is expanding and God is strengthening us as well. But apart from our shows within the country, we have plans to be abroad sometime later in the year because our fans outside, especially in the UK and US, also want us to come and perform,” he said.
In the video of one of his recent works, Money, which was directed by Dare Saka, an unemployed middle-age man – acted by Mega 99 himself – passes through various ordeals while looking for succour in the form of a job and people that will smile on his destiny. He is victimised in offices where he struggles to get a job despite no-vacancy notices he would have seen outside.
