I have the feeling that Joseph Conrad who wrote the book, ‘The Heart of Darkness’, must have had today’s Nigeria in mind when he penned that classic. How else can one explain the persistent power outage in the homes of millions of Nigerians? I don’t understand why a nation that prides itself as the sixth largest producer of crude oil cannot consistently make a simple public good available to its citizens. In my area at the Oko Filling and Unity vicinity, we are celebrating darkness. No electricity supply throughout the night until early in the morning when people are getting ready to go to work. What absurdity! We tolerate a lot of malfeasance in this country. When will we stop celebrating darkness?
