Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc has donated N200m for the welfare of the victims of the 2012 national flood disaster.
The Milling Manager of the company, Mr. Solomon Obichukwu, stated this on Friday at the Government House, Awka where the company delivered a trailer-load of relief materials to the flood victims in Anambra State.
Obichukwu, who represented the managing director of the company, Chief Emmanuel Ukpabi, said Flour Mills was touched by the predicament of the flood victims, who lost their homes, farmlands and loved ones to the floods that totally swallowed up many communities.
The materials delivered to the victims included hundreds of bags of rice, semovita, golden morn, spaghetti and noodles valued at N5.1m.
“Please be assured of our continued commitment to assisting in providing better life for Nigerians in particular and humanity in general,” Obichukwu told the state Deputy Governor, Mr. Emeka Sibeudu, who took delivery of the items on behalf of the governor.
