The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, on Tuesday urged traditional rulers to be more committed to efforts made towards addressing the security challenges the country.
He spoke at the Palace of the Obaro of Kabba, Chief Michael Olobayo, during the inauguration of constituency projects in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency of Kogi State.
He appealed to the monarchs, as heads of the institution closest to the people, to come up with reliable, effective and efficient strategies that would solve the prevailing insecurity in some parts of the country.
He commended the contributions of the member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Mr. Yusuf Tajudeen, on the floor of the House, and his initiatives towards the development of his constituency.
Kogi State Deputy Governor, Mr. Yomi Awoniyi, who represented the state Governor, Capt. Idris Wada, called for partnership between the executive and legislative arms of government to ensure rapid and even development.
The Obaro of Kabba, Chief Michael Olobayo, lauded the cordial relationship existing between the Speaker and the members of the House of Representatives. He said it would stabilise democracy and enhance legislative functions as well as good governance.
