The state of emergency declared by the President in Yobe, Adamawa, and Borno states is a welcome development and long overdue but one would have expected the emergency declaration to be total. That is, all political office-holders should be temporarily removed from office. I think that would have quickened the purpose of this action of the government. I still suggest that the state governors and their deputies, commissioners, the state Houses of Assembly, and local government chairmen and councillors should all be removed till further notice. They can return to base on any noticeable improvement in the internal security of the various states. Kudos to the President for this bold step. I therefore advise every Nigeria who loves peace to support this action of Mr. President so that peace can return to the Northern part of this country once again.
