What kind of leaders do we have in Nigeria? Who are the economic advisers of our leaders in empowering the youths? Is okada riding a practical skill that will endure for life to add values to the youths and wipe away poverty in their lives? We need to train Nigerian youths on practical skills, give them aids and create an enabling environment for them to operate. The government should use the SURE P funds to develop small and medium enterprise sector that will endure beyond the current regime. Nigerian youths deserve more than okadas from the government. Our government needs to learn how to build people so the people can build the nation. Giving okada to the youths as an empowerment strategy is not normal for modern day democracy. Open more vocational training centres and strengthen the existing ones for all to benefit, not buying motorcycles and tricycles to only few of their political supporters or loyalists.
